Can't rejoin (and it's not a connectivity problem)

My graphics card driver crashed two times in a single ranked match (but that’s not the issue of this post), after the second crash I could not rejoin my match, as in there was no such option (match was still going, my friend was there). Numerous re-lauches of both the game and battle.net app were in vain.
I’m not sure if this is some twisted mechanic added with some evil purpose, or an actual bug, but what I know is that such a thing must NEVER take place.
Pretty upsetting, as even 5v6 my guys lost by just a tiniest bit and I feel really sorry for them.
